Having worked lifelong in TV, Radio, Theatre and Film in the Midwest, my performance as Elsie Dewey in the Off-Broadway production of GRANDMA SYLVIA’S FUNERAL brought me to a career-changing move to New York.   This was soon followed by two critically acclaimed performances as The Rat Wife in LITTLE EYOLF for the Century Center’s Ibsen Series, and as Ayn Rand in THE ALLEGORY OF GOLF.

Several favorite stage roles of mine were in THE BALLAD OF SANDY CHAMPAGNE at HERE, MATINEE LADIES at the Greenwich House Theatre, Aunt May in ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION, Nurse Ratched in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST, Eleanor in THE LION IN WINTER, Lady Bracknell in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, the title role in THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE and Felicity in THE SHADOW BOX, among many others.

My numerous Film and TV credits include scenes opposite Julianne Moore in SHELTER and in LONELY STREET opposite Jay Mohr.  I also appeared in WORD OF HONOR with John Malkovich, in NOMI'S BAT MITZVAH, in PARTICLES OF TRUTH, the Title Role in THE TEACHER, and as Brisco's ex-wife in LAW AND ORDER.

I originally became enamored with the concept of reading books aloud during my early career as an actor in Detroit.  I enjoyed many, many happy hours as a volunteer for "Readings for the Blind".  The Director of this highly acclaimed organization, Gloria Lewis, requested my efforts so repeatedly that I gradually learned to apply the subtlety and nuance required of a really good reader, who can faithfully convey the author's true mood and intent.  And what a great venue for an actor---the satisfaction and fun to finally be allowed to ‘play all the parts!’

Another volunteer effort I especially enjoyed was originating, then running, the Screen Actor’s Guild Weekly Conservatory Program in Michigan for 10 years
